My name is Rodney, and I have schizotypal personality disorder, also know as StPD. I don’t hear voices, like those people who suffer from basic schizophrenia. However, I am prone to talk to myself and have mildly delusional thoughts, draw imaginary numbers in the air with my fingers.

I have a very impressive IQ, but sometimes I talk so fancily that people can’t hardly comprehend.

People who have

StPD have feelings of grandeur, and think that they are slated to do great things -  which is where the “schizo” part of it comes into effect.  Unlike regular schizophrenia, we are much less likely to commit suicide. But, we can get very impatient and have racing thoughts.   Another facet of StPD is you sometime demonstrate inappropriate behavior.   We can be overly loving and affectionate so

much that people get turned off or scared to death. We , however, have a mild tendency to occasionally cuss, but usually, we mumble a lot to ourselves.

When I suffer a spell of StPD, I go for a walk, color, draw, study maps, or read. This puts my mind at ease and allows my mind to concentrate on things.   Concentrating on other things allows me to deal with life’s everyday problems.
