POPULATION SERVED: Russell and Tazewell County residents, 18 years or older, with a diagnosed mental illness.

PURPOSE: To provide psychosocial rehabilitation to individuals with long term mental illnesses. The program also attempts to decrease the need for hospitalization or rehospitalization.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: Ark House is a day support program designed to meet the needs of individuals with long-term mental illnesses. Opportunities are provided to learn independent living skills. Socialization and recreational activities are emphasized and on-the-job training opportunities are provided.
