PERSON: Sherry Sanders, Coordinator LOCATION: Cumberland Mountain Community Services Main Center TELEPHONE: (276) 964-6702 PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: Cumberland Mountain Community Services maintains a long history of providing prompt, effective response to the people of Russell, Buchanan, and Tazewell Counties who are experiencing crisis. In all three locations, our satellite office staff provide a full range of outpatient treatment services including crisis intervention. During our regular office hours, staff are available to handle all walk-in and phone call emergencies. This is possible because emergencies take first priority. After office hours, our on-call system takes over, providing coverage around the clock. Our on-call system is accessed by calling a toll free number to page the on-call counselor. You will be asked for your name and a phone number where the on-call worker can call you back. Every effort will be made to call you back as soon as possible, usually within five to ten minutes. This is a new service which makes it easier to reach us in your time of need. Our after-hours crisis staff consist of a twelve member team of highly trained, mental health professionals who rotate on-call coverage to all three of the counties we serve. On average, our crisis staff each have over ten years experience in the field of human services. These individuals have the knowledge and skills needed to provide support, assessment and referral as dictated by the nature of the crisis. We offer discreet, confidential assistance when you need it most. If crisis is disrupting your life, please seek professional help as soon as possible. The longer you delay, the more damage is done. Remember, everyone experiences crisis at some point in their life. Dont be afraid to get help. Call any of these numbers during the day:
