| Cumberland
Mountain Community Services, located in Cedar Bluff, Tazewell, Grundy, and Lebanon,
will destroy inactive consumer records beginning November
3, 2003
according to the Code of Virginia Section 42.1-79.1. The
consumer or an authorized representative will have an opportunity to request possession of
their record by calling one of our four offices. Proof
of identity will be required. Included in the
purging will be adult records inactive prior to November 01, 1993, or 5 years beyond the
date of death. Also included will be inactive records of juveniles who are at least 23
years of age, or have been inactive 10 years, whichever is longest. The deadline to
contact Cumberland Mountain Community Services is October
30, 2003. Any record not requested in that time period will
